Hello! My name is Amelia Dembowski. Growing up just fifteen minutes from San Francisco in Marin County, I now study screenwriting at the North Carolina School of the Arts.

My work explores spaces of discomfort and the boundary humor can provide within them. I focus on interpersonal relationships and the untold truths that lie beneath the surface, often unpacking flaws and dismantling false exteriors we don’t always realize are there.

While writing is my primary passion, I also have a particular draw to illustration. Gouache is my favorite medium for traditional work, but I don’t shy away from modern tools such as Procreate.
